G-Arm Awarded “Best New Spine Technology 2014” at NASS
Whale Imaging’s G-Arm Biplane Technology Honored with Prestigious Spine Industry Award
Boston, MA (November 15, 2014) – Whale Imaging, Inc., leading designer and manufacturer of innovative G-Arm and Sigma Series ultrasound medical imaging systems, was named “Best New Spine Technology 2014” at this year’s North American Spine Society (NASS) Annual Conference. The NASS Annual Conference is a yearly gathering of leading spine surgeons from across the United States and Canada. Tom Bishow, Vice President of Orthopedics This Week, presented the award yesterday during the NASS Recognition Awards Presentation in San Francisco, CA.
This annual award recognizes inventors, surgeons, engineering teams, and companies who have created the most innovative, enduring, and practical products to treat back pain. The award highlights significant benefits that G-Arm technology can provide surgeons, including Lower Dose, Less Infection Risk, Reduced Time, and Greater Accuracy.
“Winning this award is a wonderful recognition of Whale’s G-Arm biplane technology,” said Laurence Heron, Whale’s SVP of Operations and Marketing. “It endorses our belief that biplane imaging is an innovative solution for many surgical applications. This comes at a great time for Whale as we expand into the U.S. market.”
In order to qualify for this award, a panel of esteemed surgeons judged each entry on six criteria, with a ranking from one to five in each criteria category. Over 40 new products were submitted for judging and 11 winners were announced at NASS.
“It’s an honor to be recognized as a spine technology leader,” remarked Heron. “We’ve had tremendous positive feedback from surgeons using G-Arm, and national recognition is an added privilege.”
